Dr Ran Schwarzkopf explains why he uses a monoblock stem for all revision hip arthroplasty procedures, based on design rationale, strength and reproducible results. Following an overview of challenges, planning considerations and therapeutic objectives, he uses clinical evidence to outline why non-modular stems are a viable alternative to modular stems, with a comparison of various implant types. In conclusion, Dr Schwarzkopf presents a number of patient case studies.
